A Drinking Station systems purify water by passing it through a series of filters and membranes. The water is first passed through a particle filter, then an activated carbon filter to remove impurities and chlorine, then through a reverse osmosis membrane, which only allows clean water to pass through. The purified water is then stored in a tank and may go through a final activated carbon filter for taste and smell improvement before use.

Alkaline water is water that has a higher pH level than regular drinking water. While normal water generally has a neutral pH of around 7, alkaline water typically has a pH of about 8 or 9. This increase in pH is achieved through a process called electrolysis, where the water is passed over plates that are electrically charged, separating the water into acidic and alkaline components. The alkaline part is what is consumed.

Proponents of alkaline water believe it can neutralize the acid in your bloodstream, provide increased hydration, and result in various health benefits including improved metabolism, increased energy, slower aging, and improved digestion. However, scientific support for these claims is limited. A Drinking Station treats the water you drink and cook with, while a Whole Home system treats the water you use for laundry, bathing and cleaning. A Whole Home system will protect you from absorbing chemicals while showering and will protect your home’s plumbing system and fixtures from scaling. The drinking water system is specifically designed for drinking water, cooking, making coffee and tea, ice, etc.

We recommend that the filter for each stage be changed once per year, except for the membrane, which only needs to be changed every 1-3 years, depending on the water quality.

No, drilling a hole in your countertop is not necessary if you choose to include our 3-in-1 faucet for an additional fee with our Drinking Station. This convenient faucet combines regular and purified water outputs in one fixture, allowing you to use your kitchen sink for both washing and accessing clean drinking water.

However, if you decide not to opt for the 3-in-1 faucet and do not have an existing unused hole, we will need to drill a new one. This is required to install the dedicated Drinking Station faucet, which is used exclusively for drinking water. The installation of this faucet necessitates a hole at least 1/2 inch in diameter on your sink or countertop.
